Meet The Trainer
Toni Centore
Toni's journey as a professional dog trainer began in 2015 at Petco, where she completed an intensive training program and became a certified dog trainer. Her passion for animals, combined with her academic background in psychology, made dog training a natural fit—blending her understanding of both canine behavior and human communication.
In 2017, she expanded her experience by working at a local board-and-train facility while continuing to train at Petco. Over the next two years, she worked hands-on with dogs of all breeds, ages, and temperaments—gaining a deeper understanding of canine behavior and refining her skills across a variety of training techniques.
Today, Toni is a trusted expert known for her patient, empathetic, and results-driven approach. Her training philosophy is rooted in positive reinforcement and clear communication, with a strong focus on tailoring each program to the individual dog’s needs and personality. Whether helping a high-energy puppy learn good manners or guiding an anxious rescue toward confidence, Toni is passionate about helping dogs thrive and supporting their humans every step of the way.
Meet Toni's Dogs
Nova and Madeline
Toni’s love for dogs began early—she got her first furry friend at just two years old. Since then, she has opened her heart and home to six canine companions, each one rescued from shelters or found on the streets. Her dedication to giving these dogs a loving home is at the heart of everything she does. Today, Toni shares her life with two beloved dogs, Nova (left) and Madeline (right).
Nova
- Born: November 2021
- Breed: Labrador Retriever / Pit Bull Mix
- Nova joined the family at just 7 weeks old after being spotted in a “free to a good home” Facebook post. Full of life and personality, Nova is a social butterfly who never misses a chance to make a new friend. She’s energetic, intelligent, fearless, sweet, and always ready for a snuggle. Her favorite activities include paddleboarding and chasing her beloved soccer ball in a game of fetch.
- Best described as: “Nosey Nova” — always curious and always involved!
Madeline (Maddie)
- Born: August 2016
- Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog / American Staffordshire Mix
- Maddie was found wandering the streets after Hurricane Matthew at just 7 weeks old and has been by Toni’s side ever since. She’s an intuitive and steady presence—independent, wise, and deeply loyal. While she prefers to observe rather than be the center of attention, Maddie has a love for adventure, especially when it involves a long car ride or time spent exploring outdoors. She has even dabbled in sheep herding at Draxen Farms!
- Best described as: “A Lady” or “The Queen Bee” — graceful, poised, and quietly in charge.
