Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find an answer to your question contact (772)985-0795 or email rufftoregalk9@outlook.com

Ruff To Regal K9's training approach focuses on positive reinforcement techniques. This means we reward desired behaviors to encourage repetition, rather than using punishment for undesired actions.

There is no extra fee for training multiple dogs in the same household. However, each dog will need individual training time at first to ensure they understand the commands before they can be trained together. Training time during each session can be divided between the dogs.

Yes, we do offer in-home training sessions! Depending on your preference and your dog’s needs, sessions can take place in your home, around your neighborhood, or at a local public location. Typically, training sessions are scheduled once a week, but the frequency is flexible and can be adjusted based on your goals and availability. Ultimately, you decide what schedule works best for you and your dog.

Obedience training provides your dog with essential skills to navigate the world confidently and safely. It strengthens communication between you and your dog, improves behavior at home and in public, and helps prevent unwanted habits. Well-trained dogs are less likely to engage in destructive behaviors, reducing stress for both the pet and the owner. Additionally, obedience training enhances a dog’s social skills, making interactions with people and other animals more enjoyable.

  • We offer a variety of dog training services including puppy training, basic obedience training, advanced obedience training, behavior modification, and socialization.
  •  American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Testing and Training.
  • Training sessions are 100% personalized to help resolve your issues and reach your dog's goals!

YES!

  • YES! Common to misbelief, old dogs can learn new tricks! Training older dogs simply requires more patience and repetition.

Puppies are never "too young" to start training, and they can begin as early as 9 weeks old, just one week after their first vaccination. Starting training at this age is crucial for establishing positive habits and preventing undesirable behaviors from developing. Early training helps your puppy learn basic commands, socialization skills, and appropriate interactions with people and other dogs. By investing in their training from the outset, you set the stage for a well-adjusted and obedient adult dog.

Yes, older dogs can absolutely learn new skills! While it may require a bit more time and patience, we are fully equipped to work with dogs of any age to enhance their behavior and obedience.

The length of time it takes to train a dog depends on a variety of factors, including the dog's age, breed, temperament, and the type of training needed. On average, it can take several weeks to several months to FULLY train a dog.

  • We offer training to help prepare your dog for Therapy Dog Certification.
  •  To become a therapy dog in the state of Florida, a dog must first pass the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen(CGC) Test. Then the dog will be evaluated/certified by a national therapy dog organization.
  • After passing the CGC Test, Ruff To Regal K9 will assist you through the process of becoming certified.

  • Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability.  The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person’s disability.
  •  Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA.
  • Service dog training will only be provided to individuals who meet the requirements, and dogs with the proper temperament. Not all dogs have what it takes.
  • Ruff To Regal K9 offers task-related service dog training. We do not provide diabetic, medical alert, or guide dog training.

At Ruff to Regal K9 Dog Training, our primary training method is positive reinforcement, which serves as the foundation of our approach. However, we recognize that every dog learns differently. In RARE cases, our trainer may recommend a "balanced" training approach if it is deemed the most effective option. For some dogs, if properly implemented, it can provide significant benefits when used responsibly and as part of a well-rounded training plan.

Unfortunately, no. The discounted package rate is only available when paid in full upfront. Paying per session would be considered purchasing individual 1-hour training sessions at the standard rate.

Unfortunately Ruff To Regal K9 does not offer a board-and-train program at this time.
